Research and publications:

The anthropology faculty at KU Leuven studies forms of "making", "living" and "moving" around the world. We are committed to long-term ethnographic research in order to gain an in-depth understanding of how individuals and groups organize their lives, relate to pasts and prefigure futures."

Making", "living", and "moving" are three thematic clusters grouping individual research projects of our lecturers, doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers.

You can find expert profiles and summaries of our research for non-academic publics (governmental organizations, non-governmental organizations, media, companies, creative industries, cultural sector, etc.) via this link.

Teaching in African Studies:

We offer three MA programmes: Social and Cultural Anthropology in Dutch or English and an Advanced Master of Cultural Anthropology and Development Studies (CADES).
