CERTIZENS (Certifications of Citizenship in Africa), which is concerned with national identification systems and their significance for state-citizen relations, is the largest research project at the Centre of African Studies (CAS), where it is housed within CAS’s ‘Sovereignties and Citizenships’ research platform.
