Javier Revilla Diez, Mfundo Mlilo, Peter Dannenberg and Michael Bollig, researchers in the CRC Future Rural Africa are inviting chapter abstracts for an edited volume expected to be published in 2027. In this volume, the editors seek to tackle the issue of regional resilience in the context of escalating and intersecting global crises. Drawing on an evolutionary understanding of regional economic resilience as the capacity of regions to resist, adapt to, and transform in response to shocks (Martin & Sunley, 2015; Sutton et al., 2023), the volume seeks to advance a more context-sensitive perspective grounded in African and Global South experiences.
