AEGIS Membership

How to become a member (institutional membership only)

New centres that share AEGIS' objectives are encouraged to apply for membership of the network. It is hoped that AEGIS will eventually include members from every EU country. Associate membership is welcome by African studies centres from non-European countries.

Please submit an application for institutional membership from the Chair of your Centre to the Chair of the AEGIS group. Find the membership application form here

If you want to know more about AEGIS and your country already has a representative member institution, please address your enquiry to the contact person detailed in the notes on member Centres. AEGIS is an open network and wishes to facilitate access to its resources for all European scholars of Africa.

If you are an African scholar and want to know more about AEGIS activities, please contact any of the participating European Centres. Correspondence in one of the European languages of the AEGIS network should simply be addressed to the appropriate national centre which will inform other participating centres of your approach.

Please do contact us. AEGIS is actively developing its network of relations, especially with bodies that represent African universities and research institutions nationally and supra-nationally.
