Travel to Uppsala

Stockholm- Arlanda International Airport is the closest airport to Uppsala and it is located between Uppsala and Stockholm, 35 km south of Uppsala.

Transfer from the Airport to Uppsala

By Train
There is commuter train service between Arlanda and Uppsala known as “Upptåget”. Upptåget serves the airport every 30 minutes. The trip to Uppsala Central Station takes 20 minutes. Upptåget departs from Arlanda Central Station (Arlanda C) which is situated directly below the centre of SkyCity. SkyCity is located between Terminals 4 and 5. Tickets for Upptåget commuter train can be purchased at Arlanda C, the Arlanda Visitor Center and at the airport’s other information counters. The train ticket is SEK 130 (approx. EUR 15-16). Tickets can also be bought from the conductor on board for an additional fee. 

By Bus
Bus No 801 leaves from the airport to Uppsala every 30 minutes from about 4 am until midnight. The bus leaves from bus stops outside of the arrival halls. The journey to Uppsala takes approximately 45 minutes. Tickets are available at the Arlanda Visitor Center in Terminal 5 or at the airport’s other information counters. Tickets can be bought on board as well but only through payment by credit card. The bus ticket is SEK 100 (approx. EUR 12) or SEK 80 if bought in advance in the terminals.

By Taxi
Taxis are mostly available directly outside all terminals at Arlanda Airport. For arrivals outside of peak hours we recommend to book a taxi in advance. Contact details of Uppsala Taxi: http://www.uppsalataxi.se/index.php?id=&L=1

Most taxi companies offer a fixed price. The rate between the airport and Uppsala city is approximately SEK 450 (approx. EUR 55).

Travel from Stockholm Central Station to Uppsala Central Station.
There are 2 trains per hour from 6 am to 11 pm Monday - Friday from Stockholm Central Station to Uppsala. The journey takes approximately 40 minutes and costs about SEK 85 (approx. 10). Ticket can be bought from a ticket desk in the main hall of the station or from ticket-vending machines on the platform. Tickets can also be bought from the conductor on board for an additional fee.

Walking
It takes approximately 25 minutes to walk from Uppsala Central Station to Ekonomikum. Please see map on this page for further directions.

By Bus
Bus No 5 (towards Stenhagen) leaves every 10 minutes from Kungsgatan which is the main street in front of the main entrance of Uppsala Central Station. The bus ride to Ekonomikum is approximately 6 minutes. Ekonomikum is the fourth stop from the station. Tickets for the bus can be bought through vending machines at the bus stops or paid by SMS. Please note that cash payment on buses is not possible. A single ticket is SEK 20 (approx. EUR 2,50).

By Taxi
Taxis are mostly available directly from the station, and they are parked at the back (or north-east) side of the station. There are plenty of signs indicating the location of taxis.
