AEGIS European Conference on African Studies

11 - 14 July 2007
African Studies Centre, Leiden, The Netherlands

ECAS 2007 Conference

The African Studies Centre is hosting AEGIS’s (Africa-Europe Group for Interdisciplinary Studies) second biennial conference in Leiden, the Netherlands from 11-14 July 2007.

The first European Conference on African Studies (ECAS) was held at the School of Oriental and African Studies and the Institute of Commonwealth Studies in London in July 2005. This long-awaited conference was a great success and it is hoped that ECAS 2007 will be just as interesting and thought-provoking.

The conference in Leiden has “African Alternatives: Initiative and Creativity beyond Current Constraints” as its theme.

Please note that the call for panels and paper abstracts submission is now closed. The timetable of the conference is now available.
